A 20-year-old transient man is behind bars at the Mercer County Jail after police say he opened fire at the Willow Village Apartments on Sterling Avenue in Sharon early Saturday, wounding a man in the arm before triggering an all-day manhunt across the county.
Sharon police identified the suspect as Anthony Scott Ruiz, charging him with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and carrying a firearm without a license, according to the Sharon Herald. The shooting sent officers scrambling that morning, and it was serious enough that WPXI aired a broadcast alert describing Ruiz as armed and dangerous while the search was still active.
