A Silver Alert was activated Tuesday for Frederick Carter, a 67-year-old man reported missing from Los Angeles’ Pico-Union area. Police are asking the public to watch for him and quickly report any possible sighting.
Carter was last seen Friday at approximately 2 p.m. near West 15th Street and Magnolia Avenue. According to MyNewsLA.com, the California Highway Patrol activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Carter is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark-colored pants and socks, according to the alert information.
The California Highway Patrol explains that Silver Alerts are used for elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired people who go missing and are considered at risk. The CHP coordinates California’s missing-person alert system with local investigating agencies and maintains information about active alerts through its state alerts program.
The alert was issued on behalf of the LAPD as authorities seek help locating Carter. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call 911, MyNewsLA.com reported.
