Tuesday evening stays mostly quiet, but clouds will build as a storm system approaches. The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan office puts the chance of showers and thunderstorms at 40% overnight, with the best window beginning after about 2 a.m. Wednesday, August 26.
Wednesday will be warmer, reaching near 84 degrees, with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 4 p.m. Most storms are expected to be weak, though an isolated stronger storm could bring gusty winds or small hail.
Late Week Looks Sunny And Comfortable
Once the front moves through, Milwaukee gets a much calmer stretch. Thursday should be sunny with a high near 78, followed by another sunny day Friday with a high around 75, according to the NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan forecast.
Overnight lows will dip into the low to mid-60s Thursday and Friday, with light winds and mostly clear skies. Saturday remains partly sunny near 78 degrees, although the forecast turns more unsettled again Saturday night.
Stormier Pattern Returns This Weekend
Showers and thunderstorms have a 40% chance Sunday, mainly before 1 p.m., with a high near 81. Monday stays warm near 82 degrees and carries another 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, so weekend plans may benefit from a little flexibility.
People heading north for a Lake Michigan beach day should also check conditions before leaving Milwaukee. The weather service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Sheboygan County from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, along with a Small Craft Advisory for nearshore waters north of Port Washington during the same period.
