A man is wanted by Las Vegas police after allegedly punching a victim at a business in the 7200 block of Arroyo Crossing Parkway just before 6 p.m. on July 31, according to officials. The attack happened near Tenaya Way in Spring Valley, and investigators are now asking the public to help identify and locate the suspect pictured in surveillance images tied to the case.
According to FOX5 Vegas, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Spring Valley Area Command is handling the investigation and has released the request under event number LLV260700123961. The stretch of Arroyo Crossing Parkway where the attack unfolded sits inside The Arroyo Market Square, a sprawling 940,000-square-foot retail power center near Interstate 215 and South Rainbow Boulevard that's anchored by big-box stores including Walmart, Sam's Club, Best Buy and Home Depot, according to LoopNet. It is not clear which specific business at the center was the site of the confrontation.

This is not the first time this year that Spring Valley detectives have turned to the public for help identifying a violent-crime suspect. Hoodline reported that detectives sought assistance in April after two victims were hospitalized in a robbery in the 4200 block of Spring Mountain Road, where two young men assaulted a couple and fled in a white four-door sedan. Just over a week before the Arroyo Crossing attack, the command also asked residents to help locate a decommissioned Ford F-350 ambulance stolen near El Camino Road.

No charges have been filed, and officials have not released the suspect's identity, the extent of the victim's injuries, or whether surveillance footage produced the images now being circulated. Under Nevada Revised Statute 200.481, battery is defined as any willful and unlawful use of force against another person; without a weapon or substantial bodily harm, it is typically charged as a misdemeanor carrying up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, according to LV Criminal Defense. If the victim suffered substantial bodily harm, however, Nevada law allows the offense to be elevated to a Category C or Category B felony carrying mandatory prison time — meaning the eventual charge, if any, will hinge on the severity of the victim's injuries, which has not been disclosed.
