Storm coverage eases somewhat Sunday, but the day will remain hot, with a high near 94, a heat index around 103 and a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Rain chances drop to about 20% Monday and Tuesday, then to 20% or less Wednesday through Friday as highs hold near 95 degrees.
The combination of heat and humidity could push heat-index values into the 102-to-107-degree range next week, with some areas nearing heat-advisory levels.
