Pittsburgh is starting Wednesday with patchy fog and temperatures near 61 degrees, but the murky morning should give way to a partly sunny afternoon. The bigger weather wrinkle arrives Thursday, when scattered showers and thunderstorms could move in after 3 p.m.

Fog Burns Off Before A Warm, Quiet Afternoon

Fog is expected to thin after 9 a.m., with temperatures climbing steadily toward a high near 83 degrees. According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, south winds should remain light at 0 to 6 mph, and no rain is expected Wednesday.

Wednesday night stays partly cloudy with a low around 64. It is a brief dry reset before the region's main storm chance of the week, following the wetter pattern covered in Hoodline's earlier Pittsburgh forecast.

Thursday Storms Could Complicate Afternoon Plans

Thursday begins mostly sunny and warms to about 84 degrees before scattered showers and thunderstorms become possible after 3 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 40%, and forecasters say a few storms could produce damaging wind in the broader western Pennsylvania region.

Storm chances continue into Thursday evening before tapering off around 8 p.m., with rainfall totals generally between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. There are no watches or warnings in effect, but anyone with outdoor plans should keep an eye on changing skies during the afternoon and evening.

Sunny Weekend Arrives Before Another Heat Bump

Dry weather returns Friday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 82, followed by a sunny Saturday near 83. Sunday stays mostly sunny and warmer, reaching about 86 degrees.

The heat builds further early next week, with highs near 89 on both Monday and Tuesday. A chance of showers returns Monday night, while Tuesday could bring additional showers and thunderstorms after an initially partly sunny day.
