Southeast winds will run 5 to 12 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph, and rainfall could total a quarter to half an inch by Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Flooding Concern Continues Into Sunday Night
Rain chances rise tonight, when showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue beneath mostly cloudy skies. The low should settle near 74 degrees, with another three-quarters to 1 inch of rain possible, raising concerns for ponding water and flash flooding in low-lying areas and places that drain poorly.
Baltimore remains included in the Flood Watch through late Sunday night. A separate Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for Anne Arundel County through 10 a.m. Sunday, where minor tidal flooding is expected around Annapolis.
Storm Chances Continue Into Next Weekend
Monday, August 3, will stay humid with a high near 88 and another round of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms likely. Tuesday looks somewhat calmer with partly sunny skies and a high around 87, but shower and storm chances return Wednesday through Saturday, with highs near 89 to 91 and muggy overnight lows in the low to mid-70s.
Humidity could push heat indexes into the upper 90s across the metro area beginning Wednesday, even as daily storms remain possible. For Sunday plans, keep outdoor activities flexible and move indoors promptly if thunder starts.
