The National Weather Service says the storm pattern may become more active late Sunday night through Wednesday, with timing and coverage still difficult to pin down. Some storms could bring gusty or damaging winds, downpours and brief flooding, so outdoor plans Monday morning may need a backup.
Monday Brings The First Bigger Storm Threat
Showers and thunderstorms are likely before 9 a.m. Monday, August 10, followed by additional chances through the afternoon. The rain chance is about 70%, with new rainfall totals of a half-inch to three-quarters of an inch possible.
Monday night stays unsettled, with another 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a low near 70 degrees. Repeated storms could produce heavier rainfall in some neighborhoods, especially if storms move slowly or track over the same areas.
Cooler, Drier Weather Arrives Late Week
Tuesday remains storm-prone, with showers and thunderstorms likely and a high near 81 degrees. Wednesday offers another chance for storms, but the pattern should gradually turn drier and less humid Wednesday night.
By Thursday and Friday, Cleveland should see mostly sunny conditions with highs in the upper 70s. Overnight lows will ease into the mid-60s Thursday and the lower 60s Friday, a welcome change after several days of heat, humidity and repeated storm chances.
