Storms Arrive Tuesday Night
Clouds will build through the afternoon, with showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely after 7 p.m. The chance of rain rises to 80% overnight, and storms could drop a quarter to half an inch of rain, with an isolated severe storm possible Tuesday afternoon or evening.
Heavy downpours are the bigger concern as the unsettled pattern continues into Wednesday. The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan office says repeated rounds of rain could produce around an inch along and south of the I-94 corridor, with locally higher totals near the Wisconsin-Illinois border.
Wednesday Stays Wet And Cooler
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Wednesday, especially during the morning and early afternoon, while temperatures top out near 74 degrees. Rain chances remain elevated Wednesday night before the system pulls away, setting up a cooler and drier Thursday with a high near 77.
Lake Michigan Hazards For Some Beachgoers
A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect for Sheboygan County beaches from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, with the National Weather Service warning swimmers to stay out of the water and away from piers and breakwalls. Boaters on Lake Michigan north of Port Washington should also watch for conditions hazardous to small craft during the afternoon and evening.
Sunny Break Arrives Before A Humid Weekend
Friday looks sunny with a high near 82, but warmer and more humid weather returns this weekend. Highs should run around the low 80s to mid-80s, with heat index values near 90 and storm chances returning Sunday through early next week.
