Storms could bring brief heavy downpours and gusty winds, even though the regular forecast calls for northeast winds around 7 mph. Rainfall totals in Denver may stay on the lighter side, but the forecast allows for roughly a tenth to a quarter-inch of new rain. Thursday night remains unsettled, with more showers and thunderstorms possible before 3 a.m. and a low near 61 degrees.
Flooding Risk Is Higher East Of Denver
The heaviest concern is farther east, where a Flood Watch is in effect from 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday for parts of the eastern Colorado plains. Forecasters say slow-moving storms and already-wet ground could produce localized flash flooding, especially where storms repeatedly track over the same areas.
For Denver residents, that means checking the sky before heading to outdoor plans and allowing extra time if a downpour develops during the afternoon commute. Never drive through a flooded roadway, even if the water appears shallow.

Friday and Saturday will remain partly sunny but storm-prone, with highs near 86 and 84 degrees, respectively, and afternoon thunderstorms likely both days. Overnight lows should settle near 61 degrees, while Saturday night brings a smaller chance of additional storms.
Sunday looks mostly sunny early, followed by a chance of afternoon thunderstorms and a high near 83. The pattern turns warmer and somewhat drier Monday, with a high near 86, before sunny skies and a high around 90 arrive Tuesday.
