Brooklyn jewelry brand Catbird is setting its sights on Dallas for its first Texas store, with a November opening planned in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood. The boutique is expected to bring custom charms, permanent jewelry, ear piercings and wedding-ring appointments to one of the city’s most style-conscious shopping corridors.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Catbird plans to open the shop in November as the Brooklyn-based brand continues to expand beyond its East Coast roots.

Catbird’s Dallas Buildout Is Already In Motion

A project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation identifies the planned store at 2166 North Henderson Avenue, Suite B100. The filing describes a 993-square-foot interior retail buildout with an estimated cost of $300,000, with work scheduled to begin July 1 and reach completion by September 1.

Catbird began in 2004, when founder Rony Vardi opened a small shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In 2006, the business shifted its focus to jewelry and began developing the Catbird line, according to Catbird’s own history.

The Dallas store is expected to offer the hands-on experiences that have become part of the brand’s identity, including custom charm jewelry, permanent jewelry, ear piercing and personalized appointments for wedding rings, The Dallas Morning News reports.

A Jewelry Brand Built For The In-Store Experience

Catbird’s existing stores advertise custom charm-chain building, its welded “Forever” jewelry service, ear piercing and wedding appointments. The company currently operates boutiques in markets including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Seattle, according to its store directory.

The celebrity factor is doing some heavy lifting, too: Taylor Swift has worn Catbird rings created for The Summer I Turned Pretty, while Sabrina Carpenter wore the brand’s Dollhouse heart locket on the cover of her Short n’ Sweet album, according to The Dallas Morning News.

If the November schedule holds, Dallas will become Catbird’s Texas foothold just as the brand’s delicate, stackable jewelry and permanent bracelets continue moving from internet-famous to readily available in person. Knox-Henderson, meanwhile, gets another national name with a built-in fan base and a store concept designed to turn jewelry shopping into an activity.
