Twentynine Palms Home Blast Kills Woman, Sends Two Men to Hospital

A home exploded on the 6400 block of Ocotillo Avenue in Twentynine Palms on Thursday night according to NBC Palm Springs and on Friday night according to The Desert Sun and KESQ, killing a woman inside and sending two men to the hospital as flames tore through the structure. San Bernardino County Sheriff's officials said the cause of the blast remained unclear as of Saturday.

Security camera footage from a neighboring property captured the moment of the explosion at approximately 8:28 p.m., showing a sudden blast that immediately triggered a fire at the residence, according to NBC Palm Springs. Emergency responders were called after reports of an explosion and fire. Deputies responded to help fire officials battle the blaze, and the Sheriff's Department later said an explosion had occurred at the home, as first reported by The Desert Sun.

The woman was found dead inside the home, while the two men were taken to a hospital with injuries. Deputies said they would provide an update when more information becomes available, the newspaper's Daniella Segura reported.

Arson and Bomb Investigators Take Over the Scene

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Arson and Bomb Detail responded to the home and has taken up the investigation. The specialized unit is investigating the incident, according to KESQ. San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel also responded to the blaze.

The investigation focused on determining what caused the explosion.
