More than 17,000 Clark County high school seniors can skip the usual college-application gauntlet and enter a guaranteed pathway to UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada. The new program opens Saturday for students targeting fall 2027 admission, putting a local college option in front of them before senior year gets swallowed by deadlines and paperwork.
Called One Admit, the program allows eligible Clark County School District graduates to enroll at UNLV and CSN without completing a traditional application or paying an application fee. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, students can use an online portal to claim their place in the program beginning Saturday.
What Gets A Student Straight Into UNLV
Students can qualify for full-time UNLV admission with a College and Career Ready diploma, an advanced diploma, a weighted or unweighted GPA of at least 3.0, or an ACT score of 22 or higher. Those benchmarks line up with the university’s current first-year requirements, which also list SAT scores as another admissions route, according to UNLV admissions.
Students who do not meet the initial full-admission criteria are not simply sent back to the application line. They can enter as non-degree-seeking UNLV students, receive the benefits of UNLV student status and take most of their classes at CSN, as reported by the Review-Journal. After completing 24 CSN credits — roughly two full-time semesters — and earning at least a 2.5 GPA there, they can become full-time UNLV students.
The Community College Route Is Built In
That structure makes CSN more than a backup plan; it is the on-ramp built into One Admit. Students can begin college coursework through the community college while working toward the academic record needed to make the transition to UNLV, instead of treating a weaker high school record as a permanent dead end.
The no-fee promise also removes an immediate financial hurdle. CSN says new students ordinarily pay a one-time, nonrefundable $20 application fee, while UNLV’s first-year admissions page lists a $60 application fee; One Admit eliminates those charges for participating seniors.
A Large Local Pipeline
The potential audience is substantial: The Clark County School District said more than 20,000 seniors graduated in 2026. The district also reported 23,443 graduates in the Class of 2025 and 7,011 College and Career Ready diplomas, figures that show both the size of the local graduating class and the narrower group already meeting the most rigorous college-readiness standards, according to the school district.
One Admit is not a blank check: Students still need to meet the applicable diploma, GPA or testing requirements, or complete the CSN credit-and-GPA pathway before moving into full-time UNLV enrollment. But for families who might otherwise stall at the application stage, UNLV and CSN are offering something unusually concrete — a local college route that starts with an invitation instead of a form.
