Monster trucks capable of flying 30 feet into the air will crash back down onto the dirt at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 12, kicking off a stretch of high-octane events that will also bring bull riding, calf roping and mutton busting to Victorville later in the month. The fairgrounds at 14800 7th St. will host Monster Truck Thunder from 7 to 9:30 p.m., with early entry starting at 5 p.m., followed a week later by the High Desert Rodeo on Sept. 19 and 20.
According to the Victorville Daily Press, advance tickets to Monster Truck Thunder include access to quad races, Tuff Truck competitions, monster truck rides and a free pit party. Ticket information for the truck event is available at monstertruckthunder.com, the paper notes, while the same report lists sbcfair.com, eventbrite.com and doublefcattle-tfcub.wpcomstaging.com as ticket sources for the rodeo. A previous Monster Truck Thunder stop at the fairgrounds in May 2026 featured trucks including Enforcer, Survivor, The Felon and Terminator performing freestyle runs alongside local quad racers, according to BGMSportsTrax.
A Rodeo Finds a New Home
The High Desert Rodeo, hosted by the Hesperia Wranglers, opens gates at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, with the show beginning at 6 p.m., and returns Sunday, Sept. 20, with gates at 2 p.m. and the show starting at 5 p.m., per the same account. Events across the weekend include bull riding, team roping, calf roping, ranch broncs and mutton busting for children, with local vendors and entertainment also on site. Saturday is designated Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night, tied to a national rodeo campaign raising breast cancer awareness, while Sunday is Patriotic Wear Red, White & Blue Night, according to a post shared in an SBC Fair Facebook group. General admission is $20 with parking priced at $5 cash.
The rodeo's arrival in Victorville followed a rocky stretch closer to home. Local civic disagreements led to the cancellation of Hesperia's own municipal rodeo earlier in 2026, according to posts shared on Facebook.
