
Honolulu is waking up under mostly cloudy skies Monday, with temperatures near 76 degrees at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Scattered showers are possible through the morning, but breaks of sunshine should develop as the day warms toward a high near 86.
Monday’s rain chance is about 40%, with the best odds before midday and more isolated showers later in the afternoon. East-northeast winds will run 10 to 18 mph, with gusts reaching 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service Honolulu office.
Afternoon Winds Pick Up
Temperatures should reach the low to mid-80s by late morning, while winds increase to around 16 to 18 mph. The shower chance falls to roughly 20% after noon, so most Honolulu plans should get a mix of sun, clouds and a few quick wet interruptions.
Monday night will stay warm and breezy, with a low near 78 degrees and isolated showers possible before midnight. Skies should turn partly cloudy afterward, with east-northeast winds of 14 to 17 mph and gusts up to 24 mph.
Sunny Tuesday Before More Showers Return
Tuesday looks sunnier, with a high near 86 and east-northeast winds of 13 to 17 mph, plus gusts up to 24 mph. Isolated showers remain possible Tuesday night, followed by another mostly sunny day Wednesday with a 30% chance of scattered showers.
The latter half of the week trends warmer, with highs near 87 Thursday and 88 Friday through Sunday. Scattered showers remain possible Thursday and Friday, while the forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions and only isolated showers over the weekend.
The National Weather Service says Tropical Storm Lala is moving west away from the islands, allowing the trade-wind pattern to return. Windward and mountain areas may still see more showers, while Honolulu and other leeward locations are more likely to experience brief spillover rain.
Boaters should note that a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect through 6 a.m. Tuesday for windier waters and channels around Maui County and the Big Island. No active weather alerts are listed for the Honolulu forecast point.
