A pre-dawn confrontation inside a downtown Orlando parking garage escalated into gunfire Sunday, sending police scrambling to stop vehicles leaving the scene. Three people were arrested, and no one was struck by the shots, officials said.
Orlando police officers responded at about 2:27 a.m. to reports of gunfire at the Liberty Parking Garage. According to Fox 35 Orlando, officers detained two vehicles as they tried to leave while investigators began sorting out what had happened.
Fight Escalates Before Firearm Is Discharged
Police said an altercation between two groups turned into a physical fight before one person pulled out a firearm and fired during the confrontation. Investigators recovered two firearms, but authorities did not report any injuries from the gunfire.
Michael Espinoza, 20, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and reckless display of a firearm, Fox 35 Orlando reported. Isaiah Seeraj, 20, faces a hit-and-run charge involving property damage, while Charlie Lopez, 21, was arrested on a charge of possessing a firearm as a convicted delinquent.
Downtown Garage Shootings Have Surfaced Before
The incident follows a February 2025 shootout at another downtown Orlando parking garage, where six people faced charges after police said gunfire erupted during an alleged attempted marijuana theft. ClickOrlando reported that no one was hurt in that earlier shooting.
Arrests Are Allegations As Case Stays Open
The Orlando Police Department said the investigation remains active and that no additional information is being released for now. The charges are allegations, and the arrests do not establish guilt.
