A Michigan-based chicken wing chain is finally about to make its South Florida debut in Davie, but getting there wasn't cheap or quick. Wing Snob plans to open its first South Florida location at 6815 Stirling Road, inside The Shoppes at Stirling Place, and franchisee Tarik Beydoun says the storefront could welcome customers around August 20 after more than a year of construction delays that cost him an estimated $40,000 to $50,000 in contractor-related expenses.
Beydoun signed his franchise agreement with Wing Snob back in July 2024 and secured Small Business Administration loan funding in June 2025, according to Business Debut. From there, the build-out dragged on for more than 14 months before he reached the final stage of opening, a timeline that underscores just how bumpy the path from signed paperwork to open doors can be for first-time restaurant operators. The Davie shop, first reported locally by WhatNow, will mark Wing Snob's first foothold in South Florida specifically, separate from the chain's earlier entry into the Tampa Bay market.
A Site Picked Years Before the First Wing Was Fried
This Davie address has a long history with the brand. Wing Snob first selected The Shoppes at Stirling Place for its South Florida entry all the way back in April 2022, when area developer Paterson Acquisition Group outlined multi-unit deals targeting up to 20 franchise locations spread across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, the same report notes. That means roughly four years passed between the initial site selection and an actual opening date, with the same set of construction and contractor issues eating into Beydoun's budget along the way.
Local permit filings tell part of that story too. According to WhatNow, Quality Wings LLC filed permit applications to open a restaurant at the Stirling Road address, and the outlet's reporting, credited to writer Laine Doss, notes that no official opening date had been announced at the time of its publication. Wing Snob's menu at the new Davie shop is expected to include traditional and boneless chicken wings, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, crispy chicken minis, cauliflower wings, fries, and other sides and desserts, per that same account.
From a Michigan Startup to a National Franchise Push
Wing Snob got its start in Livonia, Michigan, in 2017, founded by Brian Shunia and Jack Mashini before growing through franchising into a chain with restaurants across 10 states. QSR Magazine had previously reported that Wing Snob planned to expand into Florida, and the brand made that plan real in March 2025 when it opened its first Florida storefront in Riverview, near Tampa — a debut that included grand-opening promotions offering free wings for a year to select customers, according to The Frugalista Life.
The Davie location will be only the second Wing Snob to open its doors in Florida, but corporate ambitions for the state are far larger. Wing Snob's Florida Area Developer, Larry Weisberg, announced in November 2024 that the chain is targeting more than 100 store locations across the state, a scale that dwarfs the single Davie storefront now nearing completion. That statewide push fits into an even bigger national picture: in early 2024, Wing Snob launched a growth initiative aimed at opening 100 new franchise units across the United States and Canada by 2025, scaling up from just 41 operating stores at the start of that year, according to Fast Casual.
Why Chicken Wings Keep Multiplying in Strip Malls
Market research firm Datassential reported in 2026 that Wing Snob achieved 21.4% unit growth in 2025, riding a broader wave of consumer interest in high-protein menu concepts, with 66% of Americans saying they are drawn to such options. That demand helps explain why fast-casual wing brands keep landing in suburban shopping centers like The Shoppes at Stirling Place. Wing Snob's flavor lineup includes 18 distinct sauces and dry rubs, ranging from sweeter options like Chicken & Waffles to extreme heat labeled Reaper, alongside plant-based picks such as cauliflower wings and Beyond Meat tenders, Fast Casual reported.
The economics behind the concept also help explain why franchisees keep signing on despite build-out headaches like Beydoun's. Wing Snob's own franchise program documents put the initial investment for a new location between $195,000 and $352,000, supported by a 2023 reported Average Unit Volume of $950,487, with more than 90% of sales coming from takeout and delivery rather than dine-in traffic. To help new operators navigate the process, the company built a standardized training portal called Wing Snob University along with digital brand manuals, according to Eat This, Not That!.
Wing Snob's Florida arrival adds to a growing list of franchise expansions the brand has pursued far beyond its Michigan roots, including a planned conversion of a former fast-food site in Illinois and a franchise that opened in Romeoville, Illinois last year. Whether Davie's build-out troubles turn out to be a one-off or a preview of what other South Florida franchisees can expect as Wing Snob chases its 100-unit statewide goal remains to be seen.
