A fight between two men inside a University Boulevard nightclub near the University of Central Florida left a young woman with a fractured skull and a brain bleed, after she says she was pushed into the chaos by the surrounding crowd. Olivia Noguera says she was trying to help a friend when the violence turned on her, and now her friends are trying to identify the man they believe is responsible while deputies continue investigating.
The fight broke out inside Knights Library, an 18-and-older nightclub on University Boulevard, according to WKMG ClickOrlando. Noguera said the men grabbed her friend's hair and one of them punched her friend in the face, and she said the crowd around them pushed her toward the altercation as it spilled outward. She said one of the men then grabbed her hand, and she fought back before another man picked her up and slammed her head down.
Images circulating on Facebook reportedly appear to show the moments after Noguera was injured, though the Orange County Sheriff's Office has not confirmed the extent of her injuries. Noguera suffered a fractured skull and a brain bleed, according to the same report. A UCF parents Facebook group post has since asked for help identifying the man believed to have pushed Noguera to the ground.
A Painful Setback in Her Recovery
According to a fundraiser set up by Noguera's friends, she had only recently stopped using a cane and wheelchair after spending about a year recovering from a different head injury. That prior recovery adds a grim weight to her current diagnosis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that individuals who sustain repeated head injuries or concussions face heightened risks of persistent neurological, cognitive, and behavioral complications, underscoring why a second blow to the head can carry outsized consequences.
Traumatic brain injuries of the kind Noguera is now facing are far from rare nationally — CDC surveillance data show they result in more than 210,000 hospitalizations annually in the United States, with physical assaults ranking among the primary mechanisms behind moderate-to-severe head trauma. Noguera's friends have established a fundraiser to help cover her medical costs as she begins another recovery.
No Arrests Yet as Deputies Review Footage
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident but has made no arrests. Knights Library said it is working with the sheriff's office and has submitted all of its video footage to law enforcement, adding that it strives to promote a clean atmosphere and prevent fighting. People with information are urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office, and tips can also be submitted anonymously to Central Florida CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477), which offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to a felony arrest.
Under Florida Statute § 784.045, aggravated battery becomes a second-degree felony — punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine — when an offender intentionally causes great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement, a threshold that a skull fracture and brain bleed could potentially meet if a suspect is identified and charged.
A Familiar Address With a History of Violence
Knights Library sits about 1.4 miles west of UCF's main campus, placing it squarely inside a nightlife corridor packed with students from a university that enrolled more than 69,000 people during the 2024–2025 academic year, making it the largest school by enrollment in Florida and the second-largest nationwide. Because the venue operates in unincorporated Orange County rather than on campus, primary law enforcement jurisdiction falls to the Orange County Sheriff's Office rather than UCF police.
This is not the first time violence has erupted in or around the club. In May 2015, a fight outside Knights Library escalated into a stabbing, leading deputies to arrest a 26-year-old man on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to KnightNews.com. In April 2022, Fox 35 Orlando reported that patrons involved in a separate dispute at the venue were followed and shot at after leaving.
For now, the questions that matter most to Noguera's friends and the broader UCF community remain unanswered: who the man in the circulating images is, and whether the footage submitted by Knights Library will be enough for deputies to make an identification. No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
