Aid for AIDS of Nevada’s 40th annual Black & White Party will raise proceeds for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. AFAN provides HIV testing, prevention education, housing assistance and medical case management in Southern Nevada, according to BroadwayWorld.
Purpose and presentation
The Saturday event is presented with Clark County’s Love! Live! U=U campaign, a collaboration that connects the celebration with HIV education and access to resources, WhatsUp Vegas reports. AFAN was founded in 1984 and is described by BroadwayWorld as Nevada’s oldest AIDS service organization.
When and where
The party is scheduled for KAOS Nightclub and the SOAK Pool at Palms Casino Resort. AFAN’s event listing places VIP admission at 7 p.m. and general admission at 8 p.m.; the listing also says the event is for guests 21 and older and requires a valid physical government-issued photo ID, according to AFAN’s ticket page.
Entertainment and recognition
Morgan McMichaels, a RuPaul’s Drag Race star, is scheduled to headline. The program also includes Piranha, Gipsy Nightclub, Melody Sweets, Nicky Saturn, Taste the Show, Dale Blackheart, Monday Mania, The Phoenix, Sexxy the Show, Vegas the Show and DJ Lexto, according to KTNV. Freddy Godinez and Alexander Stabler of Fredric Alexander are set to host, while AFAN’s “Right to Wear Red” honor will recognize community members and advocates, BroadwayWorld reports.
