According to the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio forecast, Sunday night will turn mostly cloudy with a low near 76, followed by another mostly sunny 96-degree afternoon Monday. No watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted for the San Antonio area.
Tuesday stays warm at around 94 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies, southeast winds gusting as high as 25 mph and only a slight chance of rain. The odds increase Wednesday, when showers and thunderstorms have a 50% chance during the day and a 70% chance Wednesday night.
Rain Chances Peak Thursday
Thursday looks like the biggest weather pivot of the week, with showers and thunderstorms likely, an 80% chance of rain and a high near 88 degrees. Some storms could produce heavy rain, while Friday remains unsettled with storms likely early and a high near 84.
Saturday should stay cooler, around 84 degrees, but rain showers and a few thunderstorms remain possible. The weather service says a Pacific cold front may help bring widespread rain next week, although the timing is still uncertain; the latest outlook is a more substantial wet-weather shift than the forecast discussed in Hoodline's Friday update.
For Sunday and Monday outdoor plans, the safest bet is to handle strenuous activities earlier in the day, drink plenty of water and take breaks from the afternoon heat. Once the rain arrives midweek, drivers should also watch for slick roads and brief heavy downpours, especially Wednesday night through Thursday.
