An Alexandria man has been held without bond since his arrest on May 18, 2026, facing charges that he abducted and robbed his girlfriend during a violent roadside struggle that ended with her husband stepping in to help. Onlookers reportedly called 911 after seeing a man beating a woman inside a white BMW, setting off a chain of events that landed the suspect behind bars on charges of abduction, robbery and violating a protective order.
According to ALXnow, the woman told investigators the suspect physically assaulted her and stole $1,500, her iPhone and her car. The outlet reported that the two had dated for six months, and that the case traces back to a domestic disturbance in Fauquier County that led to the suspect's arrest. The victim later obtained a protective order against him, per the same account.
The alleged assault that triggered the felony charges unfolded after the woman dropped her children off at the Van Dorn Plaza shopping center and met up with the suspect, the report states. She had reportedly driven her mother's BMW to retrieve her phone from him, after he allegedly told her they needed to drive to Old Town to get it.
A Struggle Over the Wheel
A witness reportedly said the suspect took the car keys and tried to flee on foot before the victim later attempted to flee at a gas station. The suspect allegedly caught her, pulled her hair and shoved her into a wall before forcing her back into the vehicle. The alleged assault occurred near Pendleton Street and North Union Street. At an earlier point, the suspect allegedly forced the victim to drive away by force, threat or intimidation. The affidavit says he later took control of the vehicle and began driving.
She later ran away again at Van Dorn Plaza, the article states. It was there that her husband reportedly intervened after observing what was happening. The suspect then allegedly snatched both the victim's phone and her mother's phone, and ultimately fled the scene in the white BMW, according to the same account.
Charges Carry Years-Long Prison Exposure
The suspect was charged with robbery using force and abduction by force, both of which are class 5 felonies punishable by one to 10 years in prison, the outlet reported. He is scheduled for a jury trial on Nov. 18, 2026, and is set to appear in court again on Nov. 23, 2026, to face the separate allegation that he violated the protective order the victim had obtained against him.
He has remained held without bond since his arrest in May.
