An 18-year-old Arlington man has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate armed attacks in Washington, D.C. — an armed carjacking in Northeast and a pistol-whipping in Southeast — that unfolded weeks apart earlier this summer. Jehvae Armani Boone was taken into custody on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant and now faces charges of armed carjacking and assault with a dangerous weapon, according to Metropolitan Police Department.

Boone was arrested Tuesday, September 15, by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to Patch. The Metropolitan Police Department reported Boone's arrest came pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court warrant.
The Northeast DC Carjacking
The first alleged incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. on June 24 in the 600 block of Parkside Place NE, per the same dcnewsnow.com account. Suspects approached a victim's vehicle, displayed firearms and demanded that the victim get out, the report notes. The suspects then drove away in the victim's vehicle, and officers arrived only after the suspects had already fled the scene.
Police said Boone approached the carjacking victim while brandishing a firearm and stole the victim's car, per dcnewsnow.com's reporting. The armed carjacking case includes additional suspects beyond Boone, though that investigation remains under investigation, the outlet reports.
A Second Attack in Southeast DC
Roughly three weeks later, on July 13 at 11:09 a.m., officers responded to a reported assault in the 300 block of Anacostia Road SE, the station's report states. Police allege a suspect struck the victim with a firearm before fleeing the area — a pistol-whipping that left Boone accused of a second violent attack in a different part of the city.
Detectives ultimately connected Boone to both the Northeast carjacking and the Southeast assault, leading to the charges now pending against him. Police did not provide information about injuries to either victim or say what evidence investigators used to identify Boone as a suspect, according to the same account.
Investigation Continues, Reward Offered
The armed carjacking case remains open even after Boone's arrest, since additional suspects have not been identified or apprehended. The department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a violent crime in the district.
