Four men smashed their way into Dubai Jewelers in Springfield’s Brookfield Plaza on Sunday, one of them brandishing a firearm at an employee while the others shattered the front glass door and display cases, making off with roughly $600,000 in jewelry before speeding away in a black Acura. No injuries were reported, and all four suspects remain at large.
Police Detail a Fast, Coordinated Hit
Fairfax County Police Department officers were dispatched to the store in Brookfield Plaza on Sept. 27 after reports of a robbery in progress, according to DC News Now. Investigators said the four male suspects arrived at the Springfield store together in a black Acura, then moved quickly once inside. One suspect brandished a firearm at an employee while the other three broke the front glass door and smashed display cases to grab the merchandise.
Police said the group left together in the same vehicle they arrived in, and that the robbery caused no injuries. The department put the value of the stolen jewelry at approximately $600,000, per the same outlet’s report.
This is not the first time a Fairfax County jewelry store has been targeted in a smash-and-grab. Back in January 2023, police said a man used a hammer to break open display cases at Elite Jewelers and grab merchandise, an incident that, according to the Washington Examiner, sent a packed Virginia mall into chaos at the time.
For now, the search for the four men connected to the Dubai Jewelers robbery continues, with Fairfax County investigators working to track down the suspects and the roughly $600,000 in jewelry they took from the Brookfield Plaza store.
