Arnies has closed its Edmonds waterfront restaurant, leaving longtime customers turned away at the door when they arrived on September 22, 2026, expecting dinner as usual.
The closure was attributed to the current business climate not allowing the restaurant to continue, according to the Edmonds Beacon. Arnies now has no remaining restaurants under its name, following the 2023 closure of its original Mukilteo location. As reported by FOX 13 Seattle, the restaurant sat on the Edmonds waterfront, where its website described it as serving seafood against the city's iconic views.
Eileen Tietze, a long-time customer who lives in Lake Stevens, told the station Arnies was a lovely place to have dinner. She said the restaurant had been busy whenever she visited, which left her puzzled by the sudden shutdown, and she suggested people may simply not be eating out as much these days. Tietze also expressed concern for the staff who worked there.
An Abrupt Closure
The restaurant's sudden closure took customers by surprise.
Other former diners echoed the sense of loss. Dimiana Haile recalled that diners could watch boats from Arnies' windows, and former customers said the closure would be a loss for the marina area. Mulugeta Dawit told FOX 13 there simply are not many restaurants left around the area. Separately, My Edmonds News reported that 190 Sunset would not reopen.
Roots Dating Back to About 1981
Arnies operated locations in Mukilteo and Edmonds. Rob Davis, a restaurant partner, spoke to FOX 13 in 2021 about the restaurant's commitment to the community, describing its relationship with customers as personal and going beyond business and money.
The Mukilteo location closed in 2023, and the site is now associated with Hook & Cleaver.
The Waterfront Building
The Edmonds restaurant's building is at 300 Admiral Way, near the Edmonds ferry terminal and marina, according to a LoopNet listing.
For now, FOX 13 has contacted Arnies for more details about the closure and is waiting for a response. Meanwhile, local reporting from MyEdmondsNews has advised customers holding unused Arnies gift cards to seek refunds through their credit card companies for unfulfilled services or to file formal complaints with the Washington State Attorney General's Office, and reported that one person had recently purchased $500 in gift cards.
