The National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio office puts the chance of showers and thunderstorms at 20% Monday, with generally east-southeasterly winds of less than 10 knots. Any storms that develop could bring a gusty burst of wind or a brief heavy downpour, but widespread rain is not expected, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday night, residual storms may dissipate. The low will settle at 76 degrees at Austin Camp Mabry and 75 degrees at Austin-Bergstrom, offering limited relief after another hot day.
Near-Triple-Digit Heat Hangs On
Tuesday will have a high near 98 degrees, while temperatures remain hot Wednesday. Rain chances fade after Tuesday as high pressure strengthens, extending the stubborn hot pattern described in an earlier Hoodline forecast.
The rest of the week should remain hot, with temperatures trending slightly downward toward the weekend. Overnight lows will remain mostly in the mid-70s to upper 70s, so residents planning outdoor work, exercise or events should aim for the morning or evening, drink water regularly and check on pets and anyone vulnerable to the heat.
