Baltimore is starting Labor Day with cool, comfortable air and sunny skies, a welcome change from the steamy stretch earlier this month. Temperatures should rise from the mid-60s Monday morning to a high near 82, with light northeast winds and no rain expected.

The National Weather Service says Monday night will turn partly cloudy, with temperatures dipping to around 62. Tuesday stays mostly sunny and warmer near 85, making the holiday a solid bet for parks, patios and other outdoor plans.

Midweek Heat Builds Before Storm Chances Return

The easygoing weather does not last all week. Wednesday could reach 89 degrees with southwest winds gusting up to 18 mph, while humidity gradually begins to return; the updated outlook is a sharper turn from Sunday’s Hoodline forecast.

Thursday is expected to be the hottest day of the stretch, with a high near 90 and a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Storm chances continue into Thursday night, although the weather service currently describes the severe threat as marginal.

According to Baltimore City, its Code Red Extreme Heat Alert Plan is in effect from May 15, 2026, to September 15, 2026, with 311 operators providing cooling-center locations, safety tips and information about warning signs for heat-related illness. Baltimore City said its 2024 cooling centers provided air-conditioned facilities and water to residents who lacked access to cool environments in their homes.

Friday Brings A Cooler Reset

Temperatures should fall back to around 83 Friday under mostly sunny skies, followed by a mostly clear night near 67. Saturday looks sunny and mild near 84, with only a slight chance of rain showers after 2 p.m.

Sunday warms back up to about 87 degrees while remaining mostly sunny. For Monday, the practical forecast is simple: light layers in the morning, sunglasses by midday and plenty of room in the schedule for outdoor plans.
