Baltimore Police are asking the public to help identify two men caught on video firing guns in broad daylight on North Calhoun Street. Investigators say the gunfire broke out around 2:55 p.m. last Wednesday in the 700 block, and detectives have released footage in hopes that someone recognizes the shooters.
According to Baltimore Police
, two unidentified male suspects discharged their weapons while in the 700 block of North Calhoun Street on Sept. 23. The department's Western District detectives posted the video publicly, writing that they “need your help in identifying the suspects in this video.” The post says no victims were shot.
Detectives Ask Public for Tips
Anyone with information is urged to contact Western District detectives directly at 410-396-2477, per the department's post. Tipsters can also reach out anonymously through Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup, the same notice states. No further details about the suspects' appearance, the weapons used, or what led up to the shooting have been released.
The block sits along a stretch of North Calhoun Street that has seen gun violence before. In a separate, earlier case, foxbaltimore.com reported that police investigated a shooting at the intersection of North Calhoun and Laurens streets that left a 41-year-old man with life-threatening injuries; he later died at the hospital, according to that report.
Prior Shootings in the Area
Another case from October 2024 saw a 24-year-old man shot near the 1700 block of North Calhoun Street, according to foxbaltimore.com's earlier reporting. In that incident, officers responding to the scene found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1700 block of North Mount Street, and a medic transported him to an area hospital, the outlet reported. It remains unclear whether that case or the North Calhoun and Laurens streets shooting are connected in any way to last week's gunfire.
For now, investigators have not said whether the two men seen firing weapons on Sept. 23 have been identified, arrested, or charged. Baltimore Police are continuing to rely on the public to help put names to the faces in the video as the Western District investigation continues.
