A former Joann craft and fabric store along Alma Drive in Plano is being transformed into an indoor trampoline and adventure park, marking the first Big Air location anywhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The company is building out more than 25,000 square feet of space at 700 Alma Drive, Suite 119, with plans that include extreme trampoline dodgeball, a foam pit, airbag zones and an obstacle course.
Per the location owner, Big Air is opening its new Plano park in early November, according to Community Impact. That timeline lines up with an earlier Community Impact report that construction on the site was expected to run from May through October. Big Air already operates trampoline parks in Houston and Missouri City, but the Plano project would be the brand's first foothold in North Texas.
Not every source agrees on the exact season. The Plano Chamber's business listing describes the location as being in the pre-opening and construction phase and targeting what it calls a Fall 2026 grand opening, according to Plano Chamber records. Big Air's own coming-soon page for the Plano site does not list a firm date at all, telling visitors to “stay tuned for exclusive updates on our grand opening date,” per bigairusa.com.
What's Planned Inside the Old Joann Space
The Plano park is under construction at the former Joann craft and fabric store along Alma Drive, per previous reporting relayed by Community Impact. Once finished, the site is set to offer an extreme trampoline dodgeball court, an airtrack sports court, airbag zones and toddler play areas, according to Big Air's website. The company also plans a foam pit for kids to launch into from the trampolines, per the same site.
The Plano Chamber listing adds that the venue is being positioned for more than open-jump time, describing it as ideal for birthday parties, school field trips, team outings and corporate events. The park's website, www.bigairusa.com, already lists the Plano address as it prepares for the opening.
Part of a Broader Texas Trampoline Boom
Big Air is not the only trampoline brand betting on North Texas growth. In an announcement published April 23, 2025, Sky Zone said it had signed three franchise deals covering 13 additional Texas locations, according to Sky Zone. That expansion includes a new 40,000-square-foot park at 3333 Preston Road in nearby Frisco, which Sky Zone says is its fourth Texas location and was expected to create 70 to 80 jobs.
Sky Zone's Frisco park, which planned attractions such as a race slide, Sky Slam, zipline, iWalls, AirCourt, Boulder Balls and a toddler zone, scheduled its grand opening and Free Jump Day for April 11, 2025, per the company. The pace of openings across the region suggests Plano families will soon have more than one option for indoor jumping once Big Air's own doors open.
