The event pits two touring rosters, the Lucky Llamas and the Chaos Crew, against each other in what organizers describe as a reimagining of traditional baseball.
According to KXAN Austin, the Round Rock date marks the 17th stop on Boom Ball's 2026-2027 tour. Express assistant general manager Stu Scally said the event will be “an unforgettable night that includes fun for everyone,” adding that the club is “thrilled to welcome Boom Ball to Dell Diamond in 2027.” The show is designed to move quickly, running roughly two hours across six innings rather than the traditional nine.

Boom Ball games include trick plays, according to MiLB.com. Decked Out Magazine describes the format as including batting-practice-style pitching to teammates and a home run derby. Rosters blend former collegiate and minor league baseball players with softball stars and reality TV personalities. The Lucky Llamas face off against the rival Chaos Crew at every stop on the circuit, per the same source.
The Round Rock date follows the format the organization has used across the country this year.
