Boyz II Men is heading back to its hometown stage this Friday, teaming up with the Philly Pops for a one-night show that reimagines the group's biggest hits with a full orchestra behind them. The performance is set for TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann on September 18, with conductor Anthony Parnther leading the ensemble through a set expected to include some of the group's most recognizable songs.
A Homecoming Built on Orchestral Arrangements
According to Highmark Mann, Boyz II Men will return to the outdoor Philadelphia venue with the Philly Pops for the September 18 show, conducted by Anthony Parnther. The event page describes the group's run as spanning more than 30 years, and the pairing gives longtime fans a chance to hear familiar hits reworked with a live orchestra rather than the group's usual band setup.
The Philly Pops, which is producing the concert alongside the group, says concertgoers can expect a set list built around some of the band's signature songs. Per the Philly Pops, that includes “End of the Road,” “I'll Make Love to You,” “One Sweet Day” and “Motownphilly” — a run of songs that traces the group's arc from breakout single to enduring ballads.
Decades of Accolades Behind the Group's Return
The Philly Pops' event listing leans on the group's résumé to frame the show, calling Boyz II Men the best-selling R&B group of all time, with an astounding 64 million albums sold. The same listing credits the group with four Grammy Awards, nine American Music Awards, nine Soul Train Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and a MOBO Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, along with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

PHL17 describes the act as one of the most celebrated R&B acts of the past three decades, framing the Philly Pops date as a homecoming moment for a group whose roots run deep in the city.
A Look Back at the Group's Catalog
The group's own social media has recently highlighted some of that history. In a post on X, Boyz II Men shared footage from a 1991 performance of “MotownPhilly” live at the Apollo Theater, tracing the song back to its earliest stage life. The group also noted that “4 Seasons of Loneliness” was the first single from its album Evolution and hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts.
That same account pointed out a previous connection to Friday's conductor: Boyz II Men recorded a version of “Rainbow Connection” for Disney's World of Color Happiness!, working with Anthony Parnther, who conducted the orchestra on that project as well. The group teased the upcoming Philly Pops date directly on the platform, writing that the Boyz would be performing “MotownPhilly” on September 18 with the Philly Pops at The Mann, reimagining their favorite Boyz II Men songs.

Tickets for the September 18 performance are available through Highmark Mann, which had listed them going on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20 via Ticketmaster. The Philly Pops event page has also carried a separate listing referencing a September 18, 2025 date for the same show; the event pages opened for this story identify the performance as taking place on September 18, 2026, at TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann in Philadelphia.
