A shooting on 12th Avenue East in Bradenton has left two people dead, according to the Bradenton Police Department. Officers responded to the 400 block of the street Tuesday evening and located one deceased individual, and a second victim who was rushed to the hospital later died from injuries suffered in the same incident.

Street Closed as Investigation Continues
12th Avenue East was closed at Third Street while officers worked the scene, the department said. Bradenton police described the case as an active investigation and said additional information would be released as it becomes available. No further details on the circumstances of the shooting, a possible suspect, or a motive have been made public.

Bradenton Has Seen Other Deadly Shootings in Recent Years
Tuesday's shooting adds to a string of violent incidents that have rattled the Bradenton area in recent seasons, though none of those cases have been tied to this one. In August 2025, a 15-year-old was shot and killed overnight after officers responded to a shooting on 11th Avenue East around 11:28 p.m. and found a person with a gunshot wound outside a home, according to WTSP. A $3,000 reward was later offered for information in that case, the station reported.
In another case, 38-year-old Karl Tuxford was shot and killed in Bradenton, and detectives connected his death to the discovery of a woman's body, 23-year-old Jordan Finlon, found near Terra Ceia State Park, according to Tampa Bay 28. Authorities said Finlon's death resulted from foul play, and detectives later learned that Tuxford and Finlon had been acquaintances.
A separate shooting in March 2026 involved two men shot inside a car in Bradenton, with one victim dying at the scene and the second victim also reported dead, according to a Sarasota Herald-Tribune report. None of these earlier cases have been established as connected to Tuesday's shooting on 12th Avenue East.
