The Broomfield break-in echoes a tactic that has repeatedly hit vape and smoke shops across the Denver metro area in recent years. In July 2025, five vape shops across Centennial, Denver, Englewood, Lakewood, and Aurora were hit in a single overnight spree, with suspects using stolen vehicles to smash through storefronts and clear out disposable vapes in under four minutes, according to CBS News. Pyre's owner estimated total damage at around $40,000.
A separate burglary report described four thieves and a stolen vehicle. At least five vape shops across the Denver metro area were also burglarized in a single month.
Repeat Targets and Rising Losses
Purple Greens Vape and Glass in Centennial has suffered repeated vehicle-ramming burglaries, with about $10,000 in stolen items, CBS News Colorado reported. The owner said the shop had also suffered vehicle break-ins at the same storefront the previous April and November.
In February, suspects and a vehicle were involved in a burglary at a Wheat Ridge vape shop.
