Tanger Outlets Columbus is getting two new additions before the year is out: a Build-A-Bear Workshop set to open this fall and a Sbarro pizzeria arriving in December. The moves add to a shopping center that already counts more than 80 brands among its tenants just off Interstate 71 in Delaware County.
Build-A-Bear Workshop will occupy a 2,160-square-foot space between Ulta and Old Navy, according to WSYX, which first reported the openings. Sbarro will follow in a 2,500-square-foot spot between The North Face and Kate Spade New York, bringing XL New York-style pizza by the slice along with pasta, salad and other menu items, the station reports.
The timing carries some extra significance for Sbarro, which is based in Columbus and is marking its 70th anniversary in 2026, per the same account. The chain's arrival gives the outlet center a hometown pizza brand just as it celebrates that milestone.
More Brands Joining an Already Busy Lineup
The Build-A-Bear and Sbarro openings follow a run of new additions to the center over the summer. Tanger Outlets Columbus added The Children's Place, All-Star Elite and Spring Step Shoes to its roster in summer 2026, the station notes, continuing a steady pace of new tenants moving into the property this year.
Kristen Baldinger, marketing director at Tanger Columbus, said the new openings will bring even more energy and variety to the brand lineup. She added that guests can enhance their visit and spend even more time together by enjoying new experiences at the center, according to the station's report.
An Outlet Center Built for Easy Highway Access
Tanger describes the property as an open-air outlet shopping destination featuring a coveted collection of more than 80 top brands and local shops, according to tanger.com. The center sits at 400 South Wilson Road in Sunbury, Ohio, reachable from I-71 via Exit 131.
Tanger Outlets Columbus is a joint-venture-owned property, according to tanger.inc, and the company touts its position just off I-71 as offering easy access for travelers and locals alike. Tanger also frames Columbus as a high-growth market, pointing to a diversified economy with strong footholds in healthcare, education and technology as a driver of population growth outpacing the rest of Ohio.
The center has grown considerably since its early planning stages. It was originally described as a 350,000-square-foot retail development with more than 80 brand-name outlet stores expected to create over 900 full- and part-time jobs, according to Columbus Underground. With Build-A-Bear and Sbarro on the way, the outlet destination continues building out the kind of shopping and dining mix that has defined its expansion since those groundbreaking days.
