The Camden County Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating Ibn'Mikiayl Jeril, a 14-year-old from East Camden who was reported missing from his home on the 300 block of Morse Street. Police say he was last seen at Eastside High School. Jeril is described as a Black male, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 115 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
A Camden County Police Department post on Facebook says Jeril was wearing a black jacket, black pants and black shoes when he went missing. The department’s notice says he is known to frequent East Camden, where his home and school are located, and Atlantic City.
What Police Know So Far
The police notice identifies Eastside High School as the place where Jeril was last seen but does not specify when he was last seen or describe the circumstances of his disappearance. It provides his description and the areas he is known to frequent, and asks anyone with information to contact police.
When New Jersey issues an AMBER Alert
According to the New Jersey State Police, an AMBER Alert requires reason to believe a child under 18 was abducted and may face danger of death or serious bodily injury, as well as reason to believe the alert would help locate the child. The State Police says alerts are not intended for every missing-child incident; these criteria do not establish whether they apply in Jeril’s case.
Anyone with information about Jeril’s whereabouts is asked to call the CCPD tip line at (856) 757-7042, according to the department’s notice. The department has not shared further updates on the search beyond its appeal for help.
