Baltimore is starting Friday under sunny skies, with sunshine pushing temperatures toward 75 degrees by afternoon. The easy part ends there: a slow-moving Nor’easter will bring gusty winds, clouds and rain chances to the city through the weekend.
Friday Brings Sunshine And A Sharp North Wind
Friday should stay mostly sunny with no rain expected during the day. North winds will run 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching up to 24 mph, making the afternoon feel brisk despite the mild temperature.
Clouds will increase Friday night, and the National Weather Service says rain could begin that night.
Weekend Turns Wet And Windy
Saturday looks cooler and unsettled, with a high near 74 and a 30% chance of showers. North winds will strengthen to 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
Rain remains possible Saturday night and Sunday, when Baltimore could see another round of light showers. Sunday could be breezy, with highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s for most of the area.
The coastal storm is expected to keep the region cooler than usual through the weekend, with heavier rain more likely east of Baltimore. Outdoor plans may be possible Friday, but a jacket and an umbrella will be more useful than usual Saturday and Sunday.
Warmer, Drier Conditions Return Next Week
Rain chances fade Monday as temperatures rebound to around 73 degrees, although clouds may linger. Tuesday should reach around 77 under mostly sunny skies, followed by mostly sunny conditions near 78 Wednesday and partly sunny weather around 80 Thursday.
The midweek stretch looks calmer and mostly dry before another chance of rain develops toward the end of next week. For now, Baltimore gets one bright Friday before the Nor’easter takes over the weekend forecast.
