A driver died early Saturday morning after their car left Clarksburg Road and slammed into a pole west of Jefferson Boulevard, south of West Sacramento, in Yolo County. No other vehicles were involved, and the driver was the only person in the car. The crash happened a little before 7:30 a.m., and investigators say the driver died at the scene.
According to CBS Sacramento, the Acura sedan was traveling west on Clarksburg Road when it left the roadway and struck the pole. The California Highway Patrol believes alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the crash, though the driver's identity has not yet been released. The CHP is investigating the crash.
