Christopher Yant walked away from a physical altercation with his sister on Aug. 6, 2010, and was never seen or heard from again. He was 32 years old at the time, and more than a decade later, the Clay County Sheriff's Office says his disappearance remains under active investigation.
A Warrant, A Missing-Person Report, and Years of Silence
According to the seed facts shared by the Clay County Sheriff's Office, deputies issued a warrant for Yant in connection with the altercation just four days after it happened, on Aug. 10, 2010, and attempted to serve it. But Yant could not be found. It wasn't until Sept. 6, 2014, roughly four years later, that his biological father, Daniel Scott Yant, filed a missing-person report, telling investigators his son had been missing for about three years by that point. Family members reportedly indicated that nothing unusual had occurred beyond the altercation itself, leaving investigators with few obvious leads to explain his sudden absence.
Detectives are also asking for help solving the 2010 disappearance of Christopher Yant, according to News4Jax. The station's report identifies Yant's case as one of three unsolved missing-person cases currently open in Clay County, underscoring how the county has multiple families still waiting for answers.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office says it has a detective overseeing Yant's case and can be reached directly at 904-264-6512. Per the same report, people with information about any of the county's unsolved missing-person cases can also call Crime Stoppers or the Sheriff's Office at that same number. First Coast Crime Stoppers accepts anonymous tips as well, and callers do not have to give their name.
Investigators have also turned to technology in hopes of jogging someone's memory. The SaferWatch app accepts anonymous tips specifically about Yant's disappearance, and the case file includes both a photograph of Yant and an age-progression image meant to show what he might look like today, more than fifteen years after he was last seen.
