Saturday morning will stay mostly cloudy, with temperatures climbing through the 60s toward a high in the 70s. A chance of showers develops Saturday afternoon, followed by a chance of thunderstorms later in the afternoon and evening.
Rain becomes more widespread Saturday night, with showers and thunderstorms increasing. The National Weather Service Cleveland office says heavy rain and localized flooding are the main concerns, even though no watches or warnings are currently listed for the area.
Sunday Looks Like The Soaking
Sunday will be cloudy, cooler and wet, with showers and possible thunderstorms and temperatures in the 70s. By Sunday afternoon, winds around Cleveland and Lake Erie were forecast to shift to the northeast at 15 to 20 knots.
Forecast rainfall through Sunday afternoon is around 1 to 1.5 inches in and west of Cleveland, with roughly three-quarters to 1 inch possible farther northeast, according to the National Weather Service. Conditions should begin drying out from north to south Sunday afternoon, but anyone heading out should be ready for ponding water and briefly heavy downpours.
A Cooler, Wetter Pattern Takes Over
The unsettled pattern will linger into next week, with highs mostly in the 60s. Monday brings a high in the 60s, followed by possible multiple rounds of precipitation and a possible cutoff low after midweek.
Friday’s high is forecast to be in the 60s.
Lake Erie conditions are also expected to worsen from Sunday into midweek as northeast winds strengthen and waves build, making the lakefront and open-water trips increasingly hazardous. Small-craft users should check the latest Cleveland forecast before heading out.
