Friday Starts Foggy, Then Turns Friendly
The fog should lift during the morning, with light northeast winds around 5 mph and little chance of rain through the afternoon. Friday night will turn mostly cloudy, with a chance of showers after 2 a.m. Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday is the brief dry break before a more unsettled Saturday. The latest outlook also puts the afternoon high slightly warmer than Thursday's forecast suggested.
Saturday Brings The Weekend Storm Risk
Showers and thunderstorms could begin as early as Saturday morning, with the best chance of rain continuing through the afternoon. The forecast calls for a high near 83, a 50% chance of precipitation and rainfall totals generally between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
The bigger concern is that some storms could drop much heavier rain in a short time, raising the possibility of localized flooding. That is a notable update from Hoodline's previous Columbus forecast, and anyone with outdoor plans should keep a backup option handy even though no watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted.

Sunday looks much more cooperative, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 86. A slight chance of showers or thunderstorms is possible Sunday, followed by a mostly sunny Monday with a high near 82.
Summer Heat Returns Next Week
Temperatures climb again Tuesday, when Columbus could reach 89 degrees under mostly sunny skies before a slight chance of rain showers develops after 1 p.m. Wednesday stays cooler, with showers exiting early and highs in the upper 70s, while Thursday brings rain and storms with highs in the upper 70s to near 80.
