Three brothers have turned a shared grief into a pizza counter. Remy, Jordan and Jarod Adkins have opened Honey Boy Pizzeria inside Eupouria, the self-serve bar at 1568 N. High St. in Columbus' University District, serving New York-style pizza by the slice or whole pie as a tribute to their late father.
Remy Adkins owns and will operate Honey Boy Pizzeria alongside his brothers, according to The Columbus Dispatch. He said he and his brothers had joked for years about opening a pizza place with their father, and that the trio decided to finally do it after their dad died last year. The name itself comes from their father's own pet name for his sons, and the shop's slogan, “Stay Golden,” reflects the brothers' effort to stay positive, uplifting and loving despite the difficulty of losing him, Remy said.
A Menu Built on Family Pizza Jobs
The opening menu leans into classic New York-style pies, including cheese, pepperoni and mushroom pizzas alongside the signature Honey Boy-style pie, which is topped with red sauce, cheese, pepperoni, whipped garlic ricotta and hot honey. Whole pizzas run 18 inches, and slices are available for those who just want a quick bite. Beyond pizza, the menu includes garlic knots, fries and zeppole served with a sweet ricotta dip.
All three brothers bring restaurant experience to the venture. Remy previously worked at Mikey's Late Night Slice, along with stints at Chipotle, Sweetgreen and Mecha Noodle Bar. Jordan worked at Dawghouse Pizza & Bar, while Jarod's background includes Marco's Pizza, Taco Bell and Melt Bar and Grilled.
Inside a Self-Serve Bar Undergoing Expansion
Honey Boy Pizzeria's home base is a distinctive one. Eupouria, which first opened in October 2023, is a 40-tap self-serve bar where customers provide identification and a credit card before pouring their own pints, wine, seltzer, cider and premixed cocktails, according to Columbus Underground. The bar, owned and operated by Benjamin Morgan and Emilee Mann, occupies about 6,000 square feet in the Campus Gateway area and includes two full-service Wepouria bars.
Eupouria expanded in 2025, and the additional square footage was intended to increase the venue's capacity and patio space, per the same account. That expansion also included a kitchen partnership, though the outlet reported that information about who the partner would be had not been released at the time. The Dispatch separately reported that the expansion was expected to let Eupouria host more DJs and live music events on top of its existing trivia nights and karaoke.
For now, the pizzeria stands as the latest chapter for a bar that has grown steadily since opening its doors, and for three brothers who turned a long-running family joke into something permanent in memory of their father.
