High Waves Pose Swimming Risks
The National Weather Service says a Beach Hazards Statement is in effect through 1 p.m. CDT Thursday, September 24, 2026, for Lake Michigan beaches from Sheboygan County south through Kenosha County. Waves of 3 to 6 feet are expected today into tonight, then 3 to 4 feet Thursday morning, falling below 4 feet by early Thursday afternoon, with dangerous conditions around piers, breakwalls and the water’s edge.
Swim risks are expected to improve Thursday as waves subside in the second half of the week.
Later-Week Forecast
Highs are expected to be in the 60s, with Wednesday-night lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s across the forecast area.
