A Cooper man is facing a felony charge of online solicitation of a minor after the Delta County Sheriff's Office arrested him. Donald Fuller was transported out of county, according to Sheriff Marshall Lynch.

Fuller was arrested at the Delta County Sheriff's Office in Cooper on a second-degree felony charge of online solicitation of a minor, as reported by the Greenville Chronicle. He was then transported to the Hopkins County Jail, where he was booked and his bond was set at $100,000. The sheriff's office said the case was investigated by its Criminal Investigations Division.

The sheriff's office has not released details about the specific allegations that led to Fuller's arrest, when the investigation began, the age of the minor involved, or the nature of the alleged communications. Sheriff Lynch said investigators took a careful approach to the case to ensure their decisions were supported by the available evidence, and the office has encouraged residents to report suspicious activity or suspected criminal conduct involving children.
What a Conviction Could Mean Under Texas Law
Online solicitation of a minor under Texas Penal Code § 33.021 is generally classified as a second-degree felony, punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000, per Texas law cited by the Greenville Chronicle. The charge escalates to a first-degree felony carrying up to 99 years or life in prison if the alleged victim is under 14, according to FindLaw. Local authorities have not disclosed the alleged age of the minor in Fuller's case.

As with any pending case, the charge against Fuller remains an accusation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The Delta County Sheriff's Office has not released a timeline for further proceedings.
