A renewed request for information
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers has brought the 2012 killings of Antonio Bolden and Daniel Floyd back into the public spotlight by naming the case its Crime of the Week on Sept. 11. The organization is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest or indictment and is directing tipsters to www.stopcrime.org or 614-461-TIPS (8477).
The appeal was also carried by Columbus television newscasts and digital platforms, according to the Crime Stoppers notice. The organization says callers do not have to provide identifying information; it does not use caller ID or record telephone calls and instead assigns each tip a code, as explained in its FAQ.
What is known about the case
The deaths occurred on March 13, 2012, at an apartment at 2970 Cleveland Avenue in North Linden. Bolden had been visiting Floyd, his cousin, when an unidentified person or people came to the apartment's rear kitchen door. Both men were shot and died at the scene, according to accounts from NBC4 WCMH-TV and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.
NBC4 reported that the shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m. near Cleveland and Eddystone avenues and New Salem Baptist Church. Fourteen years later, police have not publicly identified a suspect or witness in the case.
