Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies shot a woman early Monday while responding to a domestic dispute on Live Oak Street in Cudahy, leaving her hospitalized in stable condition. The shooting happened around 4:20 a.m. after deputies encountered the woman, identified only as the female suspect, during their response to the call.
According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported that deputies opened fire after encountering the woman at the home. Investigators have focused part of their inquiry on a white sedan found with bullet holes in its rear window, though the outlet has not detailed how the vehicle figured into the confrontation. No deputies were injured in the shooting, and the station said it plans to add more details as they become available.

In a separate incident, the 5100 block of Live Oak Street drew scrutiny before. That was not the area's only brush with tragedy. In December 2018, a man and woman were found dead inside a Cudahy residence in an apparent murder-suicide, per CBS News' earlier reporting. And in February 2024, Live Oak Street was one of four locations targeted in an overnight drive-by shooting spree across southeast Los Angeles County that left a 14-year-old boy dead and another teen injured near Ellen Ochoa Learning Center, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
