The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the 8600 block of Skillman Street, according to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that did not stop, and Dallas police who responded to the scene found the man already dead.
As of the station's report, officers had not made an arrest and had not released any description of the vehicle involved. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details about the driver or the circumstances leading up to the crash have been made public.
A Pattern of Unsolved Dallas Hit-and-Runs

In 2022, police asked the public for help identifying a driver after a cyclist was struck by a white SUV in the 12900 block of Kleberg Road, according to FOX 4 News. Surveillance video in that case showed the driver briefly get out of the SUV before climbing back in and driving away without helping the injured cyclist, who later died of his injuries.
In a separate 2024 case, a white Dodge Challenger struck a woman crossing W. Northwest Highway east of Community Drive, outside a marked crosswalk, per My Texas Daily. That driver also fled without stopping, and the woman died at the scene. Investigators said the suspect vehicle reportedly had no license plates, and that case was documented under case numbers 87891-2024 and 87892-2024.
None of those details have been tied to Friday's crash on Skillman Street, and the earlier cases remain distinct investigations. What they share with the latest case is the same grim outcome: a driver who left a dying stranger behind and, in each instance, evaded identification for some time afterward.
