A man was shot in the abdomen around 1 a.m. Wednesday after he confronted someone breaking into his truck in an overflow parking lot for Dallas Cabaret in the 11500 block of Harry Hines Boulevard. The suspect fired at him while speeding away from the scene and has not been caught.
According to FOX 4, the victim said he got an alert that his truck was being broken into and ran outside to confront the suspect. The confrontation ended with the suspect shooting him and driving off, per the same report. Police at the scene told the outlet that the parking lot serves as overflow space for Dallas Cabaret, the strip club situated along the busy Harry Hines corridor.
Other Vehicles Targeted in the Same Lot
Once officers arrived, they found the shooting was not an isolated incident. Police discovered that multiple other vehicles in the lot had also been burglarized that night, suggesting the suspect may have been working through a string of cars before the confrontation turned violent, the station reported.
Separately, according to Dallas Express, the victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance following the shooting.

As of the report, the suspect remained at large. Police did not release a description of the shooter, and no details about the victim's condition were shared, according to the FOX 4 account, which noted that all of the information came from Dallas police officers who were at the crime scene.
