Afternoon temperatures will climb through the 90s, while tonight stays muggy with a low near 77 and a heat index as high as 101.
Triple-Digit Heat Takes Over The Weekend
Tomorrow should be sunny and near 99, followed by highs around 100 next Sunday, Labor Day, next Tuesday, and Wednesday. Next Thursday could reach 101, and overnight lows will remain stuck in the upper 70s, limiting relief after sunset.
The forecast is mostly dry across Dallas, although isolated showers or thunderstorms remain possible in parts of North and Central Texas. Dallas proper is more likely to see sunshine than rain as the remnants of the recent tropical system fade away.
Plan Outdoor Time Around The Heat
Keep strenuous outdoor plans to the morning, take frequent breaks in shade or air conditioning, and drink water before you feel thirsty. The City of Dallas says residents can use public libraries, recreation centers, and other city facilities for temporary relief during regular hours; designated cooling locations include the West Dallas Multipurpose Center at 2828 Fish Trap Road and the MLK Community Center at 2922 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the City of Dallas.
