Dave & Buster's is set to open its second West Virginia location on September 21 at 228 Brattice Drive in Westover, just outside Morgantown, bringing a restaurant, sports bar, arcade, and roughly 150 new jobs to the region. The venue combines American-style food, handcrafted drinks and more than 100 arcade games under one roof, giving North Central West Virginia its own taste of the “eatertainment” format that has spread across the state since 2024.
According to Lootpress, the new location will span 21,754 square feet, smaller than the Barboursville store and well under the chain's national average, and will include a full restaurant menu of burgers, wings and other American fare alongside a sports bar with large screens. Players will use reloadable power cards to access video and redemption games, earning tickets that can be traded in for prizes, per the same report. The Westover store will operate from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to midnight on Sundays, the outlet notes. The Westover venue will join The Dominion Post's reporting on West Virginia's first Dave & Buster's, which opened at 500 Mall Road near the Huntington Mall and Interstate 64 in Barboursville on August 19, 2024, inside a 25,000-square-foot space. That original Cabell County location also features a restaurant, sports bar, and arcade, according to the Dominion Post's account of the chain's state debut.
Built in a Fast-Growing Retail Corridor
Construction on the Westover store began in October 2025 inside the WestRidge Business & Retail Park near Menards and Academy Sports & Outdoors, sitting within Monongalia County's University Town Centre tax increment financing district off Interstate 79 Exit 155, the Dominion Post reported. The general contractor, ABS Building Systems Integrators of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was awarded the ground-up build and complete interior fit-out, according to RePlay Magazine.
The surrounding WestRidge corridor has grown quickly, with Academy Sports & Outdoors opening in June 2025 and a new Panera Bread following in June 2026, the Dominion Post reported. Developer WestRidge Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in August 2025, but county officials told the outlet the filing did not reflect weakness in the TIF district and did not interrupt construction on the Dave & Buster's project.
Smaller Footprint, Bigger Corporate Push
At just under 22,000 square feet, the Westover store follows a newer, smaller prototype the chain has aimed at medium-sized regional markets, according to Seeking Alpha. That comes as parent company Dave & Buster's Entertainment, Inc. now operates 250 venues across North America, including 184 Dave & Buster's-branded locations across 43 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, plus 66 Main Event centers, per Taiwan News.
The Westover opening also arrives as the corporate chain works to reverse a 12-quarter slide in same-store arcade revenue. Restaurant Business Magazine reported that Dave & Buster's announced plans in April 2026 to roll out 10 new arcade games nationwide tied to major media franchises such as Stranger Things and John Wick.
Community Flag Hunt and Local Hiring
Ahead of the grand opening, Dave & Buster's launched a promotional flag hunt across Morgantown in late August, offering VIP preview party invitations and $100 gift cards to residents who track down hidden flags before the doors open, according to the National Law Review. The company is hiring approximately 150 employees for the new location, per Lootpress's reporting.
Westover City Council received operational updates on the project during an August meeting, where members also discussed requests from local business owners to form a working group focused on broader city revitalization efforts, the Dominion Post reported. The discussion signals that the arrival of Dave & Buster's is being framed locally as part of a wider conversation about growth around the Exit 155 corridor rather than an isolated retail opening.
