Dillon State Park in Nashport officially cut the ribbon Friday on a beach renovation that adds a new splash pad, pickleball courts, and an ADA-accessible lake-view plaza overlooking Dillon Lake. The overhaul included upgrades to existing amenities in the park's beach area, including restrooms, basketball and tennis courts.
The project includes playground, beachfront, and visitor experience improvements at the park, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

New Courts Answer the Pickleball Boom
Crews added pickleball courts while resurfacing the existing basketball and tennis courts, the station's report states. The additions give park visitors new recreation options.

Dillon State Park spans 2,285 acres of woodland and hills surrounding a 1,560-acre reservoir, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The park is in Muskingum County. Dillon Lake itself traces back to the Flood Control Act of 1938, when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was authorized to build the earth-filled Dillon Dam, completed in 1961 to manage flooding across the Muskingum River Basin, according to the Scioto Area Corps Cooperating Association. The dam rises 107 feet.
