A 63-year-old Elyria man is facing a second-degree felony charge after police say he severely injured a woman during an argument on August 29, then tried to get her to cover up what happened by blaming a fall in the shower. Victor Johnson was arrested and booked into the Lorain County Jail on charges of felonious assault and resisting arrest, according to booking records.
According to the Morning Journal, the alleged assault happened at about 4:20 p.m. on August 29 at Johnson's home on East Avenue. A friend of the victim called police, who found the woman sitting on a chair in her house. She told officers she could not stand because of her injuries and was later taken by ambulance to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
